Reflections from a day in history...
It has been one year since the tragedies of 9-11 occurred. In a horrifying
moment, thousands of lives were lost. In a moment, the power of evil was
vividly displayed.
At the very same time, however, at Youth Challenge a picture of hope solidly
emerged. As the towers came crashing down, former drug addicts joined
hands in an intense circle of intercession, praying fervently for loved
ones that had not yet been heard from, if they were dead or alive; students
and staff together prayed for rescue workers, they prayed for the nation
and the world. Some rescue workers became heroes that day, giving up their
own lives helping others to safety. Christ once gave his life as a ransom
for all. In the human chain of changed lives I saw praying that day exists
the power of God to heal: These men were not the same. They were not only
experiencing the healing of God in their own lives, they were now becoming
a conduit of Gods message to others of the Christ who still sets
the captives free.
