“A Champion has gone home”
We will miss the physical presence of our dear brother The Reverend Louie Angel Collazo

December 29, 1943 - February 19, 2004

“A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed”
Proverbs 11:25

The recipient of this year’s Alumni of the Year Award

The Rev. Louie with Nicky Cruz at last
year’s Annual Alumni Homecoming Banquet.

In his honor, Rev. Louie’s daughter and son received Rev. Collazo’s award this year. (During this time he was in the hospital)

I just want to thank everybody for your prayers! I know if [my father] were here today he would be standing here with pride and giving thanks to you for giving him the opportunity to be a part of this ministry. Thank you..
Elizabeth Collazo,
Daughter

It’s not easy standing up here looking out at everyone, after all these years watching my Dad, he made it look so easy. But right now my heart is pounding, my hands are sweating and I’m nervous, but I want to represent him well and I want to let him know right now that I love him. He’s a very strong man. This past month, the beginning of this New Year, has been the hardest that we’ve all had to endure, but I never saw my father look like he was giving up, that he was spiteful, that he had any anger. He never said to me “Why is this happening to me?, Why am I going through this? I don’t deserve this.”. If it were myself, or most other people, the first thing to come out of our mouth would be “Why do we have to endure this?”. But he’s a great example. He’s enduring whatever he has to endure for the Glory of God. Thank You.
Aaron Collazo,
Son

Thank you, Reverend Louie!
